The perfect mix of silence, culture and nature will be your source of inspiration! My villa on the hill is named ‘Casetta’ and is uniquely located near Montespertoli, in the beautiful hills of Tuscany, Italy.

This artistically decorated house is suitable for 1-8 people: a couple, a group of friends, an entire family, or even 2 families. And musicians! (Grand piano, violin and guitar available).

Dive right in! This is one of the few accommodations in the area with a swimming pool.

The detached house stands on a hill, has beautiful private grounds with 32 olive trees and a private pool. In front of the house there’s an enormous oak that’s been standing there for over 200 years. The 300° view is breathtaking. There is WiFi available for guests and also a private parking.

The temperature inside the house is always agreeable in summer time, because the hill is the highest one in this area (420 m.). All rooms in the upper house have ceiling fans. And in the basement is a automatic ventilation system to provide you with fresh air. Additionally, you could make use of our geothermal cooled floors, for which we charge a daily rate (Check Airbnb for the costs).

Restored Tuscan hay barn

The restoration of this Tuscan hay barn was completed in 2013 with heavy chestnut rafters and red tiles on the ceiling. But also with artistic details like a steel cut work stair handrail and gold and red mosaic in the bathrooms. The showers are comfortable, the bedrooms are tastefully designed.

The villa consists of an upper house appartment with 2 bedrooms with bathroom on the first floor and a big living (with the grand piano) and well equipped kitchen, plus toilet/shower at the ground floor and a beautiful basement with 2 additional bedrooms with badroom.

There are 3 different rental options

1. The upper house only
2. The upper house + 1 room downstairs
3. The entire house (upper house + 2 rooms downstairs)

I am Marjet Gunning, I was working as a lawyer and researcher in the Netherlands and since 1994 I work and live in Italy as well as The Netherlands. I love the Italian atmosphere, art, culture, food, and living in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. And in 2013 I decied to buy this plot of land with an old hay barn on it en rebuild it into the beautiful house it is now. I know the area well: where to see art, the most beautiful walking and cycling routes and where to eat the best food.

I love music, I play the violin myself. I have a grand piano in the house which musicians can use and I can give you advice about cultural trips and concerts.
